Physical Therapy

Physical therapy provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment for both adults and children to relieve pain and/or to restore function. AMMC Licensed Physical Therapists treat works closely with the patient's physician to develop customized programs to address their individual needs.

Physical therapists assess joint motion, muscle strength and endurance, function of heart and lungs, and performance of activities required in daily living among other responsibilities. Treatment includes therapeutic exercise, cardiovascular endurance training and training in activities of daily living. Physical Therapy can relieve pain, strengthen muscles, restore motion, restore function, promote healing, prevent injury, improve circulation, and provide education.

Commonly treated conditions include back and neck injuries, fractures, strains, sprains and joint replacements, arthritis, open wounds, sports injuries and neurological disorders, such as strokes and head injuries.

A physician referral is required for an appointment. For an appointment, please call the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center Physical Therapy Department at 870-239-7209.

The Outpatient Physical Therapy department is located on the first floor of the Professional Office Building at AMMC.

Insurance Coverage
Most insurance will cover all or part of the cost of your treatment with a doctor's prescription. Please check your coverage with your carrier prior to starting therapy.
