Information On Medications
  • On the morning of surgery, take your regular medications, unless otherwise instructed, with no more than one ounce of water at the usual time, or before leaving for the hospital, whichever comes first.
  • If you are on medications for diabetes, you should discuss the dose with your surgeon or nurse practitioner.
  • Aspirin-and other anti-inflammatory products: Please do not take any aspirin products for several days before the procedure date. You will be told how many days when you receive written pre-procedure patient instructions. The same applies to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents such as Ibuprofen (such as Advil, Motrin) or Naproxen (such as Aleve).
  • If you are taking any blood thinners, such as Coumadin, Heparin or Lovenox, please contact your physician.
