Arkansas Methodist Medical Center's Environmental Services Department is committed to providing patients, staff, physicians, and visitors with a clean, safe, and comfortable environment. The Environmental Services Department has a staff of nearly 30 employees that provide services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Environmental Services department include all aspects of housekeeping, laundry, custodial, grounds and security. Our housekeeping staff maintains upward of 250,000 square feet daily. Our in-house laundry processes millions of pounds of sheets, towels, pillowcases, etc. per year. The custodial staff cares for a variety of floor surfaces. Our auto-scrubbers, burnishers, and vacuums travel over 65,000 square feet of hall space daily. Arkansas Methodist Medical Center sits on over five city blocks and requires countless hours of dedicated work to maintain the many lawns, parks, entrances and parking lots. The state-of-the-art surveillance system allows our security staff to monitor all parking lots and other key areas of the hospital.
Environmental Services provides support services to all departments throughout the hospital. Their contributions range from cleaning patient rooms and auxiliary areas to coordinating room setups, pest control, shredding of confidential documents, stocking areas with soap and paper products, disbursement of clean linen, removal of trash, bio hazardous waste, and soiled linen. The Environmental Services Management Team is dedicated to meeting each opportunity in a prompt and efficient manner. |
